- Discrepancies exist between top-down and bottom-up methane budgets (Nisbet et al. 2021).
- Need to determine evolution of methane sinks in different climate scenarios and how that influences methane lifetime.
- Do any proposed methane reduction management strategies for wetlands have the potential to reduce additional emissions caused by climate change (Ury et al. 2024) and prevent loss of Arctic sea ice? Can protecting Arctic wetlands secure stores of methane in permafrost?
